The 6th Annual D3 Hardbody Nats race/photo report has been posted at our Phanfare website.
A very light turnout of racers with several regular hardbody racers unable to attend this year's Nats.
The racing as usual was a lot of fun with some very close, competitive races as well.
Saturday's races: Paul Sterrett easily won the 3 C's race with his very fast Corvette C6-R. Keith won the Trans Am race with his '70 Mustang again this year.
The 80's-2016 NASCAR race was also a very close race. Phil Nyland edged out Eddie Shorer for the win with Keith Tanaka not far behind in 3rd.
Sunday's races: Ken Dylke won a very close, tightly contested WRC race of 12 entries.
Keith won the 40's-50's NASCAR race with his '58 Ford Thunderbird.
The GTP race was won by Bob Scott driving a loaner car to victory.
Concours winners:
3 C's: Paul Sterrett's Corvette C6-R; Trans Am: Gonzo's BRE Datsun 510; 80's-2016 NASCAR: Paul Sterrett's Kyle Petty Pontiac
WRC: Jay Henry's Peugeot 206; 40's-50's NASCAR: Paul Sterrett's '59 Thunderbird; GTP: Jay Henry's Nissan R89C
All in all, this year's Nats had many very clean races with few deslots. A lot of close, fun racing even though the turnout was less than previous years.
A special thanks to Jay Henry for his model kit donations for the raffle prize drawing after the GTP race on Sunday. Thanks again Jay.
Thanks to our race directors: Paul Sterrett, Bob Scott, Hector Gonzalez, Ken Dylke
Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie and Chris) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.
