The next Kit Collector's show will be Sunday, March 16th.
100th Kit Collectors Expo 9:00 am to 3 pm UFCW Local 324 in Buena Park, California Southeast corner of Stanton and Crescent ave.
This model kit show is an excellent opportunity to buy car model kits at very reasonable prices.

Damn---I"m supposed to be "Retro Racing" on that day!! Could someone pick me up a 1/24 67-69 Camaro body?? I managed to MELT my last one playing with the wheel wells!! I've got some of the "Hudson Hornet" bodies if anyone wants one. $25 each.
And the little Nissan that Gonzo built---are those available in 1/24?? Or only 1/25?? I"d like one of those too!! Thanks Tim

I couldn't make it to the Expo (no money). Did anyone score anything good? Share it here.

I bought a Tamiya Porsche 962 (Dunlop/Shell - red/yellow), Hasegawa "Taka-Q" Toyota 88C (yellow molded body), and a Tamiya Porsche 934 Turbo RSR Vaillant (green molded body) - all three kits were $20 each. I bought the kits from a vendor named Matt White. He has 500 model kits or so which he says are for sale. I plan to visit his auto shop someday and see what kits he has for sale. He also had some good advice on buying Tamiya kits. He said that Tamiya has a booth at the Toyota Grand Prix each year (Long Beach, in April) and they sell all of their current model kits for 50% off. Looks like I might have to go to the Grand Prix next year (Fridays are free entrance with a special coupon available) and buy more Tamiya kits. Saw a lot of model kits (NASCARs and other stock model kits) which were priced $10 to $15 each.

The Porsche 962 and Toyota 88C are possible cars for the upcoming GTP/Group C racing class (next year's enduro?).
The Porsche 934 is not legal for the GTP/Group C class, but might be fun to build and race.

I picked up a 956 NEWMAN Tamiya kit--saw several of the Toyota 88c's and a NIssan I think is also legal. These bodies are a LOT thinner than the BRM body I used on my first build---so a LOT lighter!! Guess you'll want to go that way to build a competitive car.

Where do you get the BRM bodies and how much do they cost?

I got the BRM bodies off of Slot Car Illustrated-- $15 each at the time. Very nice detail and good size!! But they are heavier than the Tamiya bodies!
