Just wanted to let everyone know that the AMT pre-painted NASCAR bodies will not qualify for the Nats Concours award. The AMT kits have completed bodies which are excellent, but our Nats Concours award will go to whomever enters the best entry painted by himself or another racer/builder. You can use these pre-painted bodies for the Nats (and our regular monthly races), but don't expect to win the Concours award. In this example, I did use a prepainted interior (by Bruce Frye) which is allowed for the Nats. Hope to see everyone at the Nats this Saturday! Keith

Thar's a nice looking body, are they available at some local hobby shops or stores? Is the body fully assembled when you get it? Are there other makes available; Ford, Dodge, etc.? Thanks for any info you have.

Roger, I've seen a few of these bodies at some local hobby shops. I bought this model kit at R's Hobbies in La Habra. I believe they had a different kit in stock as well. Tony's Hobbies in Baldwin Park had some of these kits as well. The Dale Earnhardt Jr. car was assembled except for the front bumper/diaplane and windows. The windows are one piece and nicely detailed. The rest of the car is a one piece body. These pre-painted AMT 1/25 kits come in two types. One type ($24.95) includes both regular decals as well as sticker type decals. Another type of kit ($13.95) comes only with regular decals. Both types of kits have a pre-painted body with the larger decals already applied to the body. The detail and finish on these kits is amazing. I haven't seen the $13.95 kits in stores, but here's an online store which stocks the 9 different bodies available: round2models.com/models/nascarUnfortunately, all of these 9 kits are the same 2010 Chevy Impala body. They are all "Snap-It" kits which do not require any glueing, but for our type of racing, you will have to use some glue to reinforce the body parts which need minor assembly. One of the kits listed (Chevy Impala) has a white body (unpainted) for those who like to paint their own cars. There's no price indicated at the above website, so it may not be in stock at this time.
