It was mentioned in another thread here that the possibility of a Hardbody enduro was discussed. I'm definitely interested in this happening.
I know things would have to be worked out - what class of cars, how many drivers per team, length of the race (I'd suggest 4 hour minimum), etc.
Hope to hear more on this in the future, after all have recovered from last weekend.

Roger, there was a brief discussion after the Nats about a hardbody enduro in the future. Nothing planned or decided yet, but it seems to be a special race which might be of interest to our hardbody racers.
"If" we have an enduro someday, we would have to decide what hardbody class to race. Length of race (4 hrs. or ?). Which motor(s) to use. Number of teams. Number of team members. What date would the race be scheduled?
After racing in the first ever 1990-2012 Sprint Cup race at the Nats, I felt the "one piece" body I used would be just right for an enduro since it could sustain some hard crashing without breaking the body or body parts.
I did mention during the brief enduro discussion that "maybe" we could use a racer handicap system to help level the playing field for enduro teams. The handicap would help make it more competitive when you have teams with different level of driver skills. Just a thought.
Fellow hardbody racers, any opinions on this topic?
Keith

I love the idea of a hard body enduro---and definitely think we should use the TSR style FK motors!! The 36d's are slower and heavier --- the lighter fk cars would be more fun!! Let's go with either the 80's or 90's nascars---OR Trans Am cars and go for it!! Would be FUN---I"m IN!! T

When I first thought of an enduro I thought of using 3Cs, as sports cars usually run enduros. However, that's a very good point that the 1990-2012 Sprint Cup cars would be more sturdy. Also, using these stock cars would be a little more "unique". I agree with using the FK style motors.

My suggestions for the enduro;
- 1990-2012 stock cars class,
- 4 hour time - Drive 15 or 30 minutes per lane then change to next lane (not sure which amount of driving time would be preferred)
- 1 minute for lane changes
- Each driver should drive a certain amount of time
- Minimum 2 drivers per team (probably better with 3 or 4)
and, of course there are other details to be worked out.

I like the 1 minute lane change--shouldn't need anymore. All repairs done under green flag racing! That will get us going--30 minutes sounds fun per run! Probably will need at least one change of tires--and if you start with a new motor--it should go the distance!! But maybe a change would be good? Let's race!!

Tim, this time of year is busy for many of us and I'd rather wait until sometime next year. Maybe springtime, we'll see if there's enough interest after the new year starts.
