Here's a video of present day racing of classic Group C cars of the past. The Mercedes Sauber C11, Porsche 962's, 956's, Nissans, Jaguar, etc.

The guy driving the Sauber lifted going into Eau Rouge, those cars back in the day went flat out through those corners. Then again those were pros and they didn't have to pay for repairs when they piled them up. The crashes at Eau Rouge have always been epic as you would expect doing 175+ through down hill up hill esses.

The lap record at Nurburgring is still held by a Porsche 956 driven by Stefan Belloff in 1983. Belloff died in 1985 in the 1000km race at Spa. Hard to believe after all these years that a race car in the early 80's was faster than any race car (including F1's) since. The Porsche 956/962 was quite a race car!

Unfortunately he went off at Eau Rouge while trying to go through side by side with the great Jacky Ickx. The crash was total devastation.
