Next year's (2016) hardbody enduro will be for WRC cars. Below is a listing of WRC cars and photos showing the various cars that actually raced in WRC since 1997. We will use the FIA WRC cars from 1997 to present (only those listed in the chart below). The pre'1997 WRC cars were of various sizes and types and thus not as standardized as the FIA WRC cars. Most of the WRC kits I"ve seen so far are the more modern day WRC cars (1997-present). At this time, only WRC cars listed below are allowed. WRC-2, WRC-3 and Junior WRC cars are not allowed. As you can see, the modern day Mini Cooper was/is raced in WRC. The listing/photos above "may" change or be revised as needed.Keith

I like it that we will be racing WRC cars of the these years. They will be challenging and a lot of fun. Keith, thanks for posting the list and photos of eligible cars, very helpful. Now to find a model, build it, and practice driving it. I might even be ready for next year.
I know the original Minis ran in rally's but that was in the 1960s and maybe early 70s. The new Mini will be much better for our use. Don't know if we could drive a 1/24 original Mini for 4 hours, that would be scary.

Fortunately, for Mini lovers, they can drive the newer (2011-present) Mini Cooper in the enduro next year.

The Mini used in the WRC was the Countryman (Station Wagon) body, good luck finding one of those.
Correction: Hasegawa does make a Countryman model, a street model but looks OK.

What about the RSR 4wd Porsche's I see running in the WRC RALLY'S?? Aren't those legal also?

For now its simple. If it's not listed in the WRC listing above its not legal for our WRC class. As we become more familiar with WRC we "may or may not" allow other cars not in the listing above but in order to keep things simple, we'll stick with the listing above for starters. Be aware that there are 4 WRC classes. The WRC-2, WRC-3 and Junior WRC are not included in the listing above. As mentioned above, these other WRC classes may or may not be added later. Basically, the size (wheelbase, width, height, CG) of the car body should be similar to those cars listed above in order to have a chance of being added to the list at a later date. Some pre-1997 rally cars have a body which is much lower CG than those on the listing so they obviously would not qualify for future addition. Keith
