Chart updated: 11-30-2015Here's a chart showing the dimensions of various (legal) WRC model kit bodies. We will add more legal bodies as we receive the dimensional data. The purpose of the chart is two fold: to show the body dimensions so you have a better idea of what size the chassis and tires will be and to list the model kit bodies which are legal for the WRC class. We will add more kit bodies as we collect the dimensions. Note: the front tire width is to the outer edge of the body. The rear tire width is also to the edge of the body but the rear tires are larger than the rear wheel well opening and therefore will require that the tires be inside of the body to allow clearance. The body widths shown are to the outside edge of the body on the bottom portion of the body. In order to make a maximum (legal) width chassis, you need to make the side pans as wide as the max. body width and mount the body directly on top of the side pans to achieve the max. chassis width. The bodies in the chart all have a flat bottom portion ("L" shape) on the side panels (approx. 1/8" wide). Keith

Here are two WRC bodies showing the bottom portion of the body. Mitsubishi Lancer body: bottom edge of body is relatively straight End view of "L" shaped bottom portion of Lancer body. Peugeot body: bottom portion of body has a curved/angled edge. Bottom edge of body has an "L" shaped ledge. Keith

Is the "L" have to stay on the car?

You can trim the "L" bottom portion from the body, but be careful not to trim too much as the rear tire clearance is minimal and the rules do not allow you to trim the wheel wells. Also, the front portion of these bodies are usually lower than the remainder of the body.
