November's races had a light turnout as several of our regular racers were not present. We did have an out of state racer join in the fun for the first time as well as a newcomer to hardbody racing.
Paul Frazier of Thornton, Colorado (suburb of Denver) drove to BPR from Phoenix, AZ this past weekend. He's been working on an assignment in Arizona recently and decided to drop by BPR to checkout what's happening.
He's in the process of opening up a large raceway in Thornton in the near future. Paul raced a loaner hardbody on the BPR flat track for the very first time and did quite well. He's had quite a bit of experience with slot car racing for many years as well as being familiar with running a raceway. We wish him well with his new raceway.
Dave Cantwell joined in the fun along with Henry Trujillo as they drove cars in the NASCAR/GTP race. It's been awhile since Henry last raced hardbodies, but he was fast and smooth as always and indicates he will be racing hardbodies from time to time. Dave drove in his first ever hardbody race. We welcome Paul, Dave and Henry to D3 hardbody racing at BPR.
With several regulars missing and the upcoming 2nd Chance GTP Enduro just two weeks away, it was time to get some laps and have fun before the enduro.
Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for supporting D3 hardbody racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race directors, Victor Dubrowsky and Keith Tanaka.
The monthly D3 Hardbody race report has been posted at our Phanfare website: race/photo report
2nd Chance GTP Hardbody Enduro, Sunday, Nov. 29th. Track opens at 9 am, tech inspection opens at 11 am, closes at 11:30 am.
December's hardbody races on Sunday, Dec. 20th.
