It's a new year of racing for D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway. January's hardbody races had a good turnout of racers with a lot of close racing and a new record set.
The 5 second barrier was finally broken. Victor Dubrowsky drove his Batman Porsche 962 to a 4.992 sec. lap on the black lane during the mixed race. Congrats to Victor on setting the new lap record!
The first race of the day was the "Mixed" race for any D3 hardbody car. We had a new racer join us this month. Paul Marshall raced for the first time ever on the MTT flat track as well as his first hardbody race at BPR. Paul races mainly HO and 1/32, but he adapted quickly to the 1/24 hardbody cars and drove exceptionally well on the flat track for a hardbody newby. We welcome Paul to D3 Hardbody Racing. Gonzo and Michael Kale raced their new WRC cars. The WRC Enduro is Sunday, May 15th. We'll announce signups for the Enduro soon.
13 entries for the mixed race saw a lot of close racing and a tight finish among the podium finishers, Keith Tanaka, Eddie Shorer and Jim Lane.
The second race was for GTPs and NASCARs. 6 GTPs and 4 NASCARs were entered. The NASCARs received a 13 lap handicap (lap differential) vs. the GTPs.
Hector Gonzalez and Victor Dubrowsky battled thru out the race to finish one/two with their GTPs. Jim Lane drove his NASCAR exceptionally well to finish just behind Victor for 3rd.
Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race directors, Victor Dubrowsky and Keith Tanaka.
It was good to see Bob Krigbaum after many months of absence from our hardbody races. Thanks for helping with turn marshalling Bob. By the way, Bob will be racing in the WRC Enduro in May so I'm sure he'll have a fast WRC car prepared for this team.

The next D3 Hardbody races on Sunday, January 31st. BPR opens at 11 am, first race at 1 pm. The first race will be for "inlines" only. 40's-50's and 60's-70's NASCARs only for the first race of the day.
For those who do not have an inline hardbody car, we'll have plenty of loaner cars available for the first race, so let's race inlines!
