March's D3 Hardbody races had a very turnout of racers. The mixed race had two mains and the GTP/NASCAR race also had two mains.
Gonzo (Hector Gonzalez) returned after two weeks in Puerto Rico. I guess the Puerto Rican cuisine helps you go faster on the track.
He set a new GTP total lap record with 261 laps. Also, he ran a 5.60 sec. lap on red achieving 32 laps on the slowest lane. A great race for Gonzo!
In another race, Gonzo ran his Mini Cooper (with Mini Brute motor) to 214 laps, quite fast for such a small car with slower but more driveable motor.
TJ Albu and Mark McVittie had their first ever D3 hardbody races. They both did very well for their first hardbody races at BPR.
Jay Henry again raced another "Snaptite" type car, this time an Enzo Ferrari and won his race. His "exotic" high performance car "may" be added to our GTP group in the near future along with some GT1 and GTR cars.
Ken Dylke again won with his '70 Road Runner in the "Any" NASCAR race.
Dave Cantwell finished 2nd in the NASCAR handicap race, congrats to Dave on his first podium finish.
Craig Gilbert had his '50 Olds running fast for most of the race.
Your race reporter happened to sneak by competitors to win with his Mustang Trans Am and T-Bird NASCAR.
Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race directors, Victor Dubrowsky, Tim Neja, Keith Tanaka.
Here's the complete race/photo report: Race Report
The next D3 Hardbody races on Sunday, April 17th. BPR opens at 10 am, "Mixed" race at noon, followed by GTP/NASCAR race.
The D3 Hardbody WRC Enduro on Sunday, May 15th. Still need a few racers to fill out the 8 WRC teams.
