Revell kit, has a lot of body parts to glue together Going to try and build a full plumber chassis for it

Got the pans done At this point most of it still comes apart. How do you like that for isolation Gonzo?

Didn't want to spend a lot of time doing bodywork on this poor fitting kit, but there was a good sized gap in the seam and sink hole where the rear spoiler met the body so had to fill that in using a minimum amout of Evercoat glazing putty. Didn't think the stock mirrors would withstand the rigors of slot racing either, so shaved them with filler plugs made of 0.030" sheet plastic. Otherwise the body is as from the kit with only a good blocksanding with 400 3M wet/dry to flatten it out followed by 600 to get ready for first coat of paint. Shot some Tamiya Gray Primer over the filler areas but sanded most all of it off. should have done ten more but again low effort modeling. First top coat of Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red went on smooth and glossy, but once it dried a few days the paint had shrunk and showed the poor bodywork too much. Didn't want to have to do a second coat but these are one of the pitfalls of using a Lacquer based paint system. Let that coat dry a week then wet sanded again this time using 1000 grit wet with soapy water. Resprayed two more good wet coats and it came out much better when dry, albeit with some shrinkage and sand scratches still showing through in spots. Oh well, not going to make it a super detailed paint job for Hardbody racing anyway! With the clear cover, same as the real car, you will be able to see the power unit and driveline

Chassis is a basic roller with front tires trimmed to .860" and rims painted flat black. Still lots of details to still sort out like axle bearings, motor, wires, guide height etc. Installed the bite bar with one of those Parma thingies, so it still comes apart to a degree for future tuning and cleaning.
