The 2nd Chance Enduro for DTM/GTR/GT3/Super GT cars was held at Buena Park Raceway, Sunday Nov. 18, 2018.
Just like the original enduro for this racing class in April of this year, it was a fast enduro with everyone having fun while chasing one another.
6 teams competed (8 originally signed up but two teams had last minute commitments and did not participate).
Richard Rodriguez won Concours for his entry for Team Slot Car LFR (lifer).
Team CLASH (Jim Lane, Gary Baker, Mill Conroy) won the enduro with 2487 total laps besting the 2399 laps set in the April enduro (by Team JMC, same as TEAM AUTORAMA in this enduro).
Team CLASH drove a fast, smooth race with no problems during the race.
Team ROLLING HILLS (Ken Dylke, Keith Tanaka, Michael Kale) won the Team Handicap with 2506 total laps (including their team handicap). They drove a very good race with no problems except a power slowdown towards the end of a heat on the red lane driven by Keith.
Other teams experienced problems (normal for an enduro). Team Whiplash experienced a loose motor which caused gear damage and consequently lost a lot of laps otherwise they would have been close at the finish to the top runners.
Thanks to Jim and Debby Watterson (and Eddie and Chris) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race directors: Eddie Shorer, Jim Lane, Hector Gonzalez, Mill Conroy, Keith Tanaka.
Thanks for the raffle prize donations (5 model kits) and pizza provided by Mike Steube and Keith Tanaka.
Thanks for the wood plaques and metal box plaques made/provided by Keith Tanaka.
Here is the race report: 2nd Chance Enduro race report
The next D3 Hardbody races on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 (BPR opens at 10 am, mixed race at noon followed by GTP race).
We also have a 5th Sunday in December, so we'll have an extra race day on Sunday, Dec. 30th at BPR.
