The 5th Sunday in September 2019, was an extra D3 Hardbody race this month.
A smaller turnout of racer's since our regular monthly race (3rd Sunday of each month), but everyone getting ready for our annual D3 Hardbody Nats at BPR, Oct. 19-20th.
No new records set today as in previous monthly races, but some very fast races and a lot of fun as usual.
Eddie Shorer won again driving a "Pablo (Slotblog)" built Can Am Lola T70. His total laps of 256 was just one lap less than the top lap record he set last month for the new Can Am class.
Keith Tanaka was 2nd and Jim Lane 3rd. The "Racer's Handicap" podium had Richard Rodriguez on top with Keith 2nd and Eddie 3rd.
Tim Herrera drove his new Can Am Lola T70 but was not eligible for the podium since his new car did not have a driver, interior, windshield, numbers. Tim's new Lola was very fast as it was the fastest car in this race (5.05 on black lane).
The GTP race was won by Jim Lane driving his very fast Porsche 962 (which holds the current total lap record for the GTP class). Tim Herrera was 2nd and Eddie Shorer 3rd.
For the "Racer's Handicap" podium, Tim Herrera was on top with Frank Sisto in 2nd and Jim Lane in 3rd.
Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race directors, Hector Gonzalez, Tim Herrera and Keith Tanaka.
