The next D3 Hardbody races will be on Sunday, June 2, 2013. Also, we will have a hardbody race day on Sunday, June 23rd. Track opens at 10 am, first race at noon. Note: due to the Wing World's at BPR on May 15-19, 2013, the May hardbody races are cancelled. We will try to reschedule an informal hardbody race as soon as the Flat track at BPR is reassembled (after the Wing World's) and ready to race.

Is there any certainty that the flat track will be up and running smoothly by June 2nd?
I'll be down there Saturday the 25th for some parts and to check the progress.

No guarantees that the track will be ready by June 2nd, but I decided to schedule the race as soon after the World's ended. Hopefully, the track will be ready by then. Debby at BPR will keep me informed as soon as the track is ready. Stay tuned.

Well the track was 90% assembled, but Greg has taken the opportunity to re-braid the track.
It looks like he has good start on it and is doing an excellent job re-routing as needed. The router has skimmed the surface exposing a few high spots, which means it should be a better surface once done, but that also means he has to go back and spot prime the bare wood before gluing down the braid. So far he has finished a small section under the bridge that sits nice and flat, but I think having it all done and wired by next Sunday is a long shot.
Anyone want to re-gear for the King???

I just talked with Debby at BPR on the status of the Flat track. Greg had almost completed the rebraiding of the track the other day, but ran out of braid. They've located some braid and will have it delivered tomorrow (Fri.) morning. If the rebraiding/wiring/etc. of the track is completed tomorrow we might be set to race on Sunday (if all goes well).
I'll post here as soon as I hear the good word from Debby on the readiness of the track.
Stay tuned.

I do hope Greg can have the track ready for racing by Sunday. I won't be able to race this weekend, have to help my daughter move. Hope to make it to the next race but not sure about that yet. I really want to get back to racing with you guys soon.

Just talked with Greg (BPR), the flat track is ready for racing. Greg rerouted and rebraided the entire track. The track surface (at the joints) is smoother. The braid depth may be slightly deeper than before (5 thousandths?), but the result is a smoother track surface. Hope to see many of our hardbody racers at BPR this Sunday. It's been awhile since our last monthly race so I'm sure many of you are raring to go. Keith

We didn't race on Sunday since just a few showed up for the race, but the afternoon was spent taking many practice laps on the flat track. It was a good thing we did that since the track had some loose dust and other minor issues which were apparent after many laps on the track. We found a couple of joints which needed a minor adjustment to insure a perfectly flat joint. Some loose dust was present on the track surface as well as some in the slot. This is very common for any track undergoing rerouting (clean up of the existing slot) and rebraiding. After many practice laps on each lane, cleaning, removing, adjusting the track, the racing surface is in very good condition. The track surface is the cleanest its been in quite a few years. Greg had to clean the track surface several times as well as vacuum the track (and especially the slot) after completing the rerouting/rebraiding of the track. Our next race on Sunday June 23rd (one week after Father's Day) should be a very good day of hardbody racing. Hope to see many of our hardbody racers soon! Keith
