I'm thinking of having a different type of podium plaque for this year's Hardbody Nats. For the last two Nats, we had wood plaques (8x10, 7x9, 6x8) for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers as well as a Concours plaque. I'd like to find out if the racers wouldn't mind a different type of podium plaque for this year's Nats. The other type of plaque would be a metal (aluminum) box plaque similar in appearance to the box plaques given to every Nats participant, but larger (2 3/4" x 3 3/4" vs. 2" x 3 1/2" for the Nats participant plaque). The podium plaques would use a color photo image and have an appearance similar to the Nats box plaques except they would be for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Concours. For those who plan on participating in this year's Hardbody Nats, please vote for your preference. The poll results may or may not determine if I make the wood plaques or order metal plaques My only interest in this is selfish. I make the wood plaques and they do take a lot of my time to make whereas the metal plaques are fast and look cool. Also, the metal plaques are much cheaper than the wood plaques which is important as we have to use the entry fees to pay for the podium plaques this year. No sponsor money as in past Nats, so funds are lower than previous years. Again, if you're planning on racing at the Nats, please vote. Thanks, Keith

Keith, I know you already answered my email, but I thought it was worth posting: Keith how about wood plaques for 1st and Concours and metal plaques for everything else? Is it possible to screen print a plaque (like the box plaque) larger (like 6x8) and attach it to a wood plaque. Or do it old school and have an engraved plaque with the box plaque on a wood plaque. I can send you a pic of what I mean. How much to sponsor a class? What classes need sponsors? Jim

I voted to use the metal plaques as I think they would look nice and save a lot of time and effort. Keith already does so much - planning the events, setting up and running the races and preparing his cars to race. Also, anything to keep the costs down as there are no sponsors this year.

Here's an example of what a typical metal podium plaque will look like: The metal (aluminum) plaque measures 2 3/4" X 3 3/4". Each race will have a photo representing a given racing class. Keith

I see you got 31 views and only 3 replies. So do what is best for you. I am fine with the Metal. Just looking to get it in the Handicap race.

Based on the poll results (including votes not posted online), I decided to order the metal podium plaques recently. I received the metal plaques yesterday and will post photos of the podium plaques here so you can see what they look like. Thanks for providing feedback on this topic. See everyone in a few days at the Nats. Keith

Those are nice plaques for all of the races. I especially like those for the '46 - '56 NASCARS, the Trans Am, and the 3C's.
Now if I can only figure out how to win one of them.
