At our monthly hardbody races this past Sunday, I briefly went over some reminders of our hardbody NASCAR rules and what to expect on race day.
A handout sheet was given to each racer in attendance. Here's what the handout sheet contained:
1. Use revised handicap system (as shown on this website).
2. 2 races minimum (instead of 3) required to establish handicap. If only two races, both must be within 10% of each other (lap totals).
3. Track opens at 9 am on enduro race day.
4. Tech inspection to open at 11 am.
5. Tech to close at 11:30 am.
6. All enduro cars must meet NASCAR (80's-present) rules to pass tech inspection.
A. Chassis width: 3.000" max.
B. Tires to be within body (when viewed from above).
C. Minimum tire diameter: Front: .875" Rear: 1.000"
D. Minimum track clearance: Front: .015" Rear: .050"
E. Motor: stock TSR D3 or Falcon 7 (no tampering)
F. Proper body (one of 8 model kit bodies previously distributed to each team) with windows included in model kit, interior/driver.
NOTE: the windows included with each model kit must all be used (side windows must be used as well as front/rear windows).
7. Concours judging: all enduro racers to have one vote each. Cannot vote for your own team car. Car receiving the most votes wins Concours.
8. Photos to be taken of all enduro car entries and concours winner.
9. Photos to be taken of each enduro team.
10. Race to start at noon.
11. Enduro rules:
A. 4 hr enduro, 10 minute heats, 1 minute between heats.
B. No working on cars between heats. All work on cars to be done on "green" light only. Between heats only for changing lane sticker and place car on next lane.
C. Team drivers must rotate in order. Each driver to run all 8 lanes.
D. Each team must provide a turn marshall for each heat. You can have a non team member turn marshall for your team if desired.
E. During the race, any car dragging on the track must be removed and repaired before returning to the race. If tires are too small and causing chassis to touch the track surface, tires must be changed (green light only).
F. Motor, tire, gear changes are allowed (must use same type motor), but only on green light.
G. During the race, all cars must have all body parts intact (bumpers, windows, etc.). Broken/detached parts must reattached (green light only) before continuing to race.
H. Track calls allowed: under bridge, front straightaway (drivers panel area). "Rider" calls allowed, but incorrect rider calls will be penalized.
I. Track call penalty: one lap penalty for any track/rider call not meeting the above requirement. No Mulligans!!!! Penalties will be applied during heat.
12. Concours winner will receive a wood plaque and metal box plaque. Plaque to be awarded to whoever painted/finished car body.
13. Each driver of the winning team (regular and handicap) will receive a wood plaque and metal box plaque for first place.
14. 2nd and 3rd place team members (regular and handicap) will each receive a metal box plaque.
15. All enduro race drivers will receive an enduro participant metal box plaque
16. Cost of enduro for each driver is $25.
