The 4 Hour GTP Enduro will be held at BPR on Sunday, June 28th (4th Sunday in June). We will have our regular monthly races on June 21st.
Sign-ups for the 4 Hour GTP Enduro begins on Sunday, January 18th at BPR. Only 8 teams will be entered in the enduro, so be sure to get your team signed up early to insure a spot in the enduro.
The 4 hour enduro team sign-up requires the following:
1. To become officially entered into the enduro, each team must have 3 drivers signed up.
2. Once a team is officially entered (with 3 drivers), they will choose the enduro car/livery they will race. A photo of the car will be needed (at some point) to keep track of all entries.
Only one type/livery allowed to race, no duplicate cars are allowed to be entered.
Loaner cars for teams not having an enduro car may be available if requested (loaner cars will have to be built if needed).
3. Any change in car/livery after signup is allowed as long as it is not a duplicate entry or same car/color already entered.
The OFFICIAL 4 Hour Enduro rules will be posted later on this website.
The rules and cars allowed for the Group C, IMSA GTP "racing class" are already posted on this website for your reference.
Here are some of the basic rules for the enduro, the complete race rules will be posted later:
1. 3 drivers per team. A 4th alternate driver is allowed but will only participate if another team driver is unable to race.
2. Each heat will be 10 minutes in length, 24 heats total. One minute lane change between heats. No working on cars during lane changes.
3. Team drivers will rotate thruout the enduro with each driver racing 8 heats each. The driver rotation will be the same thruout the enduro.
4. Between heats, you cannot work on your car. Only change lane/sticker allowed between heats. Any work on cars must be done during green light.
5. Any car/body parts broken free from car during the enduro must be repaired (during green light) as it occurs, no waiting until the next heat to do any repairs.
Note: It is anticipated that some body damage will occur during the race. In particular, the rear wing on some cars may not be strong enough to sustain a major crash/wall blast.
It is up to each team to be prepared to repair any damage to their car/body. The rear wing strength will be tested in the enduro, so it is advised that each team reinforce the rear wing attachment or suffer the consequences that may occur during the enduro.
Since this enduro only allows the TSR D3 or Falcon 7 motors (Retro Hawk motor is not allowed in the enduro), you may need to change the motor and tires in the enduro. These GTP cars are significantly faster than the NASCARS so one would expect more motor and tire wear during the enduro than we experienced in the 4 Hr. NASCAR enduro last June.
Any comments?
Keith
