I just built a new Trans Am mustang. I haven't tried it out on the track yet, but will find out this Sunday at our Nov. races. Hopefully it will handle well, but you never know until you run it on the track. Here's the Revell 1/24 Shelby Mustang GT 350R model kit. The chassis design is quite a departure from the typical hardbody chassis. It incorporates a number of features which have been used by others. "Gonzo" style body mounts. "Shaker" style body movement. Yikes! That's a .062" x 1" brass center section. Yes, it is one piece all the way to the rear axle. And yes, it's heavy. Total car weight is 189 grams. .032" side pans soldered at the front of the chassis only. Slight rearward flexing of the side pans, but most of the body movement comes from the "Shaker" body mounting. Shaker body movement is limited by the square tubing. Side to side movement is minimal. Motor is soldered to rear axle carrier and center section of chassis. Since the motor is completely covered by the center section, there should be better "heat sinking" of the motor. Hey Gonzo, I'm coming after your yellow Mustang! Keith

OK yeah that is different. Is that another narrower .032 strip soldered on top of the .032 side pans? It will be interesting to see this on Sunday and see how it works. I like the new ideas you guys come up with, keeps things interesting.

Roger, the .032" brass on top of the side pans is the "shaker"(floating) body mount. The square tubing provides the limited movement of this body mount.

Gonzo, thanks for all your hard work in getting the Kingleman ready. The last time we raced hardbodies on the Kingleman was with Jalopies. We can try running some laps on the track this Sunday. Keith

The Mustang GT 350 chassis is not as good as I expected. I will be building a new chassis for this body soon, stay tuned.
