In addition to the "premlinary rules" posted, we are planning on having a method of tracking "tire" replacement(s) during the enduro. During the enduro, any tires replaced must meet the minimum diameter of 1.000". In other words, no substituting "small" tires during the enduro. This will help keep the playing field level and not allow any team to "game" the race rules in order to achieve an advantage over competing teams. Hardbody racing is for fun and we don't want to make it another "who can outsmart" the other teams by scrutinizing the race rules to their advantage. We will discuss the conditions of the tire replacement rules during our next monthly races on June 21st. Keith

Is the outsmart comment for the lawyer?

Since when do lawyers know anything about slot cars? Never heard of any lawsuits for slot cars? (ha,ha).
On the other hand, doesn't matter what your background is, we all enjoy racing hardbodies.
Sometimes we outsmart ourselves by thinking too much.

Let me know when you have it figured out. Maybe it can be patented?

I just posted the revised version of the enduro rules (see post #1).
The revisions are shown in red text.
Note that the fee for each driver is $30 (instead of $25). The increase is due to having wood plaques for the 2nd and 3rd place team members (both podiums) as well as the 2nd and 3rd place Concours.
Also, note the rules for tires meeting the 1.000" minimum diameter (rear tires) during tech inspection and also during the race.

Keith, most everyone will be using Pro-Track tires (I think), the ones I have measure a little over 1.015 new out of the bag before being trued. I'm guessing that within 150-200 laps those 1.015 tires will be less than 1.000. I plan on running over 2400 laps, that's a minimum of 12 pairs ($150) of Pro-Tracks or a tire change every 2 heats or less. I have drag tires that I can grind to a larger diameter but I have only seen a few guys doing that, are you planning on checking tire diameter during heats?

Bob, the 1.000" minimum rear tire diameter rule is just for tech inspection and if you change tires during the enduro. It does not apply to the tires you start the race with as they already meet the minimum diameter requirement. I expect that several of the enduro cars will run the entire race on the original tires as the NASCAR enduro last year proved that tire wear was much less than anticipated. As long as your car is not dragging on the track during the enduro, you do not have to change the tires you start the race with.
The purpose of the minimum tire diameter rule for the enduro is to prevent any team from "gaming" the rules by switching to a smaller diameter tire after the start of the race and thus having a faster car from the get go.

Yeah it's a little confusing to say ALL tires must be minimum of 1.00"!! They DO WEAR!! I think if we start with new tires we won't ever need to change them!! And it says you can change the motor---but it's not MANDATORY to change the motor?? I thought that was the logic to NOT letting us run the new Retro Hawk motors. To force a motor change?? But the rules don't say you have to change??

Because of the confusion with the Enduro rules as far as minimum tire size is concerned, I just posted a revised version that is worded much better (see post #1).
Basically, once the race starts, the rear tire size is not an issue unless you change tires (for any reason). The replacement tires must be teched (1.000" dia. minimum) and marked. Replacement tires that have been teched and marked (for each team) will be kept in a holding area during the enduro and are available at any time during the race. Additional replacement tires can be teched and marked at any time during the enduro by a designated race official.
